Q&A with Vicki
How did Jonathan propose:
We were going to Seville for a break and Jon was in charge of organising. There was a beautiful old hacienda in the countryside just outside Seville which I had seen on-line and was desperate to go to but never thought he’d have booked but, of course, he had! Turns out he knows the guy that owns it!
Anyway, he took me for a pre-dinner walk through the gardens at sunset and we came across a clearing surrounded by sunflower fields. I noticed a small, white marble miniature chapel and when I looked inside there was a silver bucket with champagne on ice. At that moment I realised 7 years of waiting was finally over! I turned to find him down on one knee but all I could think was ‘he’s wearing white trousers and kneeling on red-brown earth, he’s going to have a fit when he stands up and realises!’
He knew I’d want to help choose my ring and instead used his mum’s, which she very generously gave to me. We drank champagne and watched the sun go down over the sunflowers.
Why Bibury Court:
It’s a gorgeous Cotswold stone building in a beautiful setting but what I liked most was the atmosphere, it wasn’t too grand, it felt more relaxed like a home and the staff were so lovely and helpful.
Favourite food of the day:
The pudding! Panna cotta with raspberry coulis.
Stand out memory:
The vows, really wasn’t expecting it but they just made such an impact on me.
